Acts One 8 - Missions
Rob Mancuso - Team Leader
We refer to our Missions team as our "Acts One 8" team. Our Acts One 8 team is the "Go" portion of our Core Values. Acts 1:8 tells us; "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” What does this verse have to do with us today? We are living in our very own Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria.
Jerusalem: Where you live/culturally comfortable
Judea: Geographically near/culturally comfortable
Samaria: Geographically near/culturally dissimilar
Ends of the Earth: Everywhere else

GO: There are many opportunites to serve. Please view the opportunites below and/or contact Jen Carignan. Additionally, please let her know if you have a personal ACTS ONE 8 plan that we can share with the FBCUM body.
The purpose of our disaster relief team is to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual help to victims of natural and man-made disasters, including floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, and terrorist attacks, in North America. Currently our church owns and operates a laundry unit that has helped support mud-out and chain saw crews after Hurricanes Katrina, Rita (New Orleans) and Ike (Houston/Galveston) by washing clothes, etc. For further information please contact Jen Carignan or view our parent parner's disaster relief site (BCMD). For pictures of our members in action, please visit our Flicr account.
