Mid-week Announcements on July 29, 2020

1) Mid-week devotional – Today’s devotional is our second installment of ‘Ask your pastors anything.’ Today’s question is on biblical fasting – take a moment to tune in as Pastor Tyrone walks us through God’s word.

2) FBCUM Virtual Prayer Meeting will be August 5th at 6:30 PM – Next week, Wednesday, August 5th we plan to meet as a church family for a prayer meeting at 6:30. Please check your email for the ZOOM information to join us. If you have any questions, please contact the church office for help.

3) Celebrating the Lord’s Supper on Sunday, August 2ndThis Sunday morning we plan to celebrate the Lord’s Supper during our morning service. Please read the following communication from the elders beforehand.

4) Memorizing James together: Psalm 1:1–2 “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” This fall we begin a study in James and as a way to meditate on God’s word and hide it in our hearts how about memorizing James as a church family? Later this week we will map out two paths: Path A on memorizing the entire book; Path B on memorizing section of the book. 6) Brief update on unity in diversity at FBCUM – Ephesians 4:1–3 “…walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
