Announcement
Mid-week Announcements on August 5, 2020
1) Mid-week devotional – Today’s devotional is our third installment of ‘Ask your pastors anything.’ Today’s question is about forgiveness – take a moment to tune in as Pastor Rob walks us through God’s word.
2) FBCUM Virtual Prayer Meeting is tonight August 5th at 6:30 PM – Tonight (Wednesday, August 5th) we plan to meet as a church family for a prayer meeting at 6:30. Please check your email for the ZOOM information to join us. If you have any questions, please contact the church office for help.
3) Sermon card for August-October, 2020 – You can check out and print off the new sermon card to know the sections of Scripture that, Lord willing, we hope to cover over the next three months. Take time to read that passage during the week to prepare your heart and mind and be an active listener (like the Bereans – Acts 17:11) and pray that we’d be faithful to God’s word in what is preached and faithful to be doers of God’s word.
4) Memorizing James together: As we begin our study of James, we wanted to offer a Scripture memory challenge to our church as a way to hide God’s word in our heart. We’re suggesting two options: Path A is to memorize the entire book of James, Path B is to memorize particular sections from James. Check out this guide to see the schedule for each path, various tools to help you memorize, and other encouragements.
5) Book Recommendation – Gospel Centered Family: Becoming the Parents God Wants you to Be, by Tim Chester and Ed Moll
6) Baptisms and (Abbreviated) Members’ Meeting on August 16th – Praise God we plan to celebrate two baptisms at the beginning of our outdoor service on August 16th. Also, we plan on meeting right after our morning service on August 16th to vote together on new members joining FBCUM (and those who have left), and to vote on calling Vince Butler and Josh Strickland to serve as elders. We will have more detailed instructions this week on our plan for that meeting, but please mark your calendars.
7) Gathering Outdoors on Sundays – Lord willing, we plan on meeting outside again this Sunday, July 26th. Please take a moment to read this FAQ sheet to know what to expect and to make sure you have all the relevant details. Please contact the church office with any questions.
8) FBCUM Playlist – Check out the playlist on the resources section of our church’s website. We’ve collected all the songs we’ve recorded during the last two months for our edification and encouragement: Master Playlist
9) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail in your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].
If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
