Announcement

Mid-week Announcements on August 12, 2020

1) Mid-week devotional – Today’s devotional is our 4th and final installment of ‘Ask your pastors anything.’ Today’s question looks at how whether we should see COVID-19 as an expression of God’s judgment – take a moment to tune in as Pastor Danny walks us through God’s word.

2) FBCUM Virtual Prayer Meeting  August 19th at 6:30 PM – Next Wednesday, we plan to meet as a church family for a prayer meeting at 6:30. Please check your email for the ZOOM information to join us. If you have any questions, please contact the church office for help.

3) Memorizing James together: As we study the letter of James, we want to offer a Scripture memory challenge to our church as a way to hide God’s word in our heart. We’re suggesting two options: Path A is to memorize the entire book of James, Path B is to memorize particular sections from James. Check out this guide to see the schedule for each path, various tools to help you memorize, and other encouragements.

4) Book RecommendationDid the devil make me do it? And other questions about Satan, demons and evil spirits, by Mike McKinley

5) Baptisms and (Abbreviated) Members’ Meeting on August 16th – Praise God we plan to celebrate two baptisms at the beginning of our outdoor service on August 16th. Also, we plan on meeting (for about 10 minutes) right after our morning service on August 16th to vote together on new members joining FBCUM (and those who have left), and to vote on calling Vince Butler and Josh Strickland to serve as elders. Members should have received an email with instructions regarding that meeting – please take a moment to read the email and please contact the church office if you have any questions.

6) Gathering Outdoors on Sundays – Lord willing, we plan on meeting outside again this Sunday. Please take a moment to read this FAQ sheet to know what to expect and to make sure you have all the relevant details. Please contact the church office with any questions.

7) FBCUM Playlist – Check out the playlist on the resources section of our church’s website. We’ve collected all the songs we’ve recorded during the last two months for our edification and encouragement: Master Playlist

8) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail in your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].

If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
