Mid-week Announcements on August 19, 2020
1) Mid-week devotional – This week’s midweek devotional comes from Pastor Bill Lowry. Take a moment this afternoon to listen and be encouraged from God’s word.
2) FBCUM Virtual Prayer Meeting is tonight August 19th at 6:30 PM – Tonight at 6:30 we plan to meet as a church family for a prayer meeting at 6:30. Please check your email for the ZOOM information to join us. If you have any questions, please contact the church office for help.
3) Book Recommendation – Your Future Self Will Thank You: Secrets to Self-Control from the Bible and Brain Science, by Drew Dyck
4) Rescheduled: Baptisms and (Abbreviated) Members’ Meeting on August 30th – Praise God we plan to celebrate two baptisms at the beginning of our outdoor service on August 30th. Also, we plan on meeting (for about 10 minutes) right after our morning service on August 30th to vote together on new members joining FBCUM (and those who have left), and to vote on calling Vince Butler and Josh Strickland to serve as elders. Members should have received an email with instructions regarding that meeting – please take a moment to read the email and please contact the church office if you have any questions.
5) Testimony of Grace – This week we have the chance to hear from Zak Kergel and an opportunity he had to share the gospel and care for a friend. Let’s pray with the Kergel’s for God for their friend to come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
6) Memorizing James together: As we study the letter of James, we want to offer a Scripture memory challenge to our church as a way to hide God’s word in our heart. We’re suggesting two options: Path A is to memorize the entire book of James, Path B is to memorize particular sections from James. Check out this guide to see the schedule for each path, various tools to help you memorize, and other encouragements.
7) Gathering Outdoors on Sundays – Lord willing, we plan on meeting outside again this Sunday. Please take a moment to read this FAQ sheet to know what to expect and to make sure you have all the relevant details. Please contact the church office with any questions.
8) FBCUM Playlist – Check out the playlist on the resources section of our church’s website. We’ve collected all the songs we’ve recorded during the last two months for our edification and encouragement: Master Playlist
9) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail in your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].
If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
