Announcement
Mid-week Announcements on August 26, 2020
1) Mid-week devotional – This week we begin a new series in our midweek devotionals on “The Attributes of God”. Pastor Mike Rogers kicks off the series today by helping us to think about “The Aseity of God”. Take a moment this afternoon to listen and be encouraged from God’s word.
2) FBCUM Virtual Prayer Meeting is next week September 2nd at 6:30 PM – Check your email on Sept. 2 for the ZOOM information to join us. If you have any questions, please contact the church office for help.
3) Rescheduled: Baptisms and (Abbreviated) Members’ Meeting on August 30th – Praise God we plan to celebrate two baptisms at the beginning of our outdoor service on August 30th. Also, we plan on meeting (for about 10 minutes) right after our morning service on August 30th to vote together on new members joining FBCUM (and those who have left), and to vote on calling Vince Butler and Josh Strickland to serve as elders. Members should have received an email with instructions regarding that meeting – please take a moment to read the email and please contact the church office if you have any questions.
4) Testimony of Grace – This week we have the blessing of being able to celebrate and thank God along with the Koch Family for the birth of a baby girl. Brystol Grace Koch was born on August 10th, weighing 6lbs., 4oz. and measuring 18 ¾ inches. Let’s remember to pray for the Koch Family as they care for their new little one and seek to raise her in the knowledge and love of the Lord.
5) Book Recommendation – Your Future Self Will Thank You: Secrets to Self-Control from the Bible and Brain Science, by Drew Dyck
6) Memorizing James together: As we study the letter of James, we want to offer a Scripture memory challenge to our church as a way to hide God’s word in our heart. We’re suggesting two options: Path A is to memorize the entire book of James, Path B is to memorize particular sections from James. Check out this guide to see the schedule for each path, various tools to help you memorize, and other encouragements.
7) Gathering Outdoors on Sundays – Lord willing, we plan on meeting outside again this Sunday. Please take a moment to read this FAQ sheet to know what to expect and to make sure you have all the relevant details. Please contact the church office with any questions.
8) FBCUM Playlist – Check out the playlist on the resources section of our church’s website. We’ve collected all the songs we’ve recorded during the last two months for our edification and encouragement: Master Playlist
9) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail in your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].
If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
