Announcement

Mid-week Announcements on September 16, 2020

1) Mid-week devotional – In our series on the Attributes of God, this week’s midweek devotional focuses on the holiness of God. I’ve been encouraged and challenged by the vision of God in Isaiah 6 that offers hope and helps to calibrate us in difficult times. Take a moment this afternoon to listen.

2) FBCUM Virtual Prayer Meeting tonight, September 16, at 6:30pm  – Please join us tonight at 6:30 PM as we plan to meet as a church family for a prayer meeting. Please check your email for the ZOOM information that morning to join us. If you have any questions, please contact the church office for help.

3) FBCUM Singing Under the Stars – For those who are able to join us, we are hoping to gather on the front lawn of the church to socially distanced sing together and encourage one another with readings from God’s word. Weather permitting, we’re planning on 6:00-7:00 PM on September 27th. We’ll send more details in the coming week, but mark your calendars.

4) Book RecommendationThe Holiness of God by R.C. Sproul

5) Grieving with Those Who Grieve – This has been a hard week with several deaths. We grieve with hope (1 Thess. 4:13), but our grief is real and painful, so let’s be sure to care for each other in our sorrow. Please contact the church office for funeral and visitation details.

  • Our brother Tory Galeano died this morning (9/16); please pray for Sue Galeano and family.
  • Carolyn Boosey’s mom (Lucille Griffin) died – her funeral is scheduled for Saturday (9/19) in North Carolina.
  • Kim Scott’s mother (Doris Waldron) died on September 4th – her funeral will be tomorrow (9/17) in Clinton, MD.

6) Memorizing James together:

As we study the letter of James, we want to offer a Scripture memory challenge to our church as a way to hide God’s word in our heart. We’re suggesting two options: Path A is to memorize the entire book of James, Path B is to memorize particular sections from James. Check out this guide to see the schedule for each path, various tools to help you memorize, and other encouragements.

7) Gathering Outdoors on Sundays – Lord willing, we plan on meeting outside again this Sunday. Please take a moment to read this FAQ sheet to know what to expect and to make sure you have all the relevant details. Please contact the church office with any questions.

8) FBCUM Playlist – Check out the playlist on the resources section of our church’s website. We’ve collected all the songs we’ve recorded during the last two months for our edification and encouragement: Master Playlist

9) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail in your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].

If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
