Announcement
Mid-week Announcements on October 14, 2020
1) Mid-week devotional – In our series on the Attributes of God, Pastor Dany Ryan teaches in this week’s midweek devotional on the immutability of God – the idea that God never changes. Because He is the same yesterday, today and forever, we have firm footing to stand on in a world that seems to change by the minute – praise God! Take a moment this afternoon to listen.
2) FBCUM Prayer Meeting, October 21th, at 6:30 PM (Indoor) – Lord willing, we plan on meeting next Wednesday night. We plan on offering the meeting on ZOOM still, but we are going to open the church building and invite those who are able to join us to come and pray at the building. We plan on following the same plan we’ve presented for indoor gatherings beginning November 1st – so check out the Indoor gathering FAQ sheet attached: bring a lawn chair, mask, Bible and we look forward to seeing you there. For those unable or not yet ready to join in person, ZOOM information will be sent to your email that morning. If you have any questions, please contact the church office for help.
3) Reopening Plans (Indoors) – Lord willing, we plan to move indoors for our worship services beginning November 1st. Please take a moment to read the Indoor gathering FAQ sheet to know what to expect and to make sure you have all the relevant details and feel free to contact any of the elders or the church office with any questions. That said, we plan on meeting outside through October (weather-permitting) and will continue to offer the live-stream option for the duration of COVID-19. Please take a moment to read this outdoor gathering FAQ sheet to know what to expect and to make sure you have all the relevant details. Please contact the church office with any questions.
4) Book Recommendation [Bible Study Tools]: 40 Questions about Interpreting the Bible, by Robert L. Plummer
5) FBCUM Playlist – Check out the playlist on the resources section of our church’s website. We’ve collected all the songs we’ve recorded over the last several months for our edification and encouragement and this past week we added the song that helped us pray, confess, and praise God for who He is and His love – “Lord Have Mercy”. Check it out at: https://fbcum.orgmedia-library/
6) Christianity and Politics (sermon series from this summer…) As we make our way through this year’s election season, we want to remind you of the 3-part sermon series from this summer to point us to God’s word to help us follow God together.
a) Romans 13 – “God and Government”
b) Ephesians 2:19-22 – “Earthly Exiles, Heavenly Citizens”
c) Psalm 2 – “Our hope in KING Jesus”
7) Memorizing James together: We want to offer a Scripture memory challenge to our church as a way to hide God’s word in our heart. We’re suggesting two options: Path A is to memorize the entire book of James, Path B is to memorize particular sections from James. Check out this guide to see the schedule for each path, various tools to help you memorize, and other encouragements.
8) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail in your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].
If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
