Mid-week Announcements on November 11, 2020
1) Mid-week devotional – In our series on the Attributes of God, Pastor Rob Mancuso teaches in this week’s midweek devotional on the grace of God. Take a moment this afternoon to listen as we seek to fix our eyes on Him.
2) FBCUM Prayer Meeting, November 18th, at 6:30 PM (ZOOM only) – Next week, Wednesday, November 18th, we plan to meet online as a church family for a prayer meeting at 6:30. Please check your email for the ZOOM information to join us. If you have any questions, please contact the church office for help.
4) Starting Point Class – For those hoping to learn more about First Baptist Church or are interested in membership, we are planning on offering two starting point classes on November 15th and 22nd. The classes will be in the fellowship hall of the church following our morning service and lunch will be provided. Attending the class does not obligate you to join the church, but taking the class is the first step we ask folks to take who do join the church. To sign up for the class, or if you have any questions, please email the church office.
5) New Sermon Card – Attached you’ll find the sermon card for November – January. As a reminder, we encourage you to read the text that is being preached on the coming Sunday to help you prepare your heart and mind to be an active listener like the Bereans (see Acts 17:11) and as a reminder to pray that God would bear fruit in our lives as we sit under His word.
6) Book Recommendation: Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God, by J.I. Packer
7) Indoor Meeting Plans: Lord willing, we will continue to meet indoors for the duration of the winter season. You can find out our plans for meeting indoors by reading the Indoor gathering FAQ sheet. Please note, we plan to continue to offer the live-stream option for the duration of COVID-19. If you have any questions, please contact the church office with any questions.
8) FBCUM Playlist – Check out the playlist on the resources section of our church’s website. We’ve collected all the songs we’ve recorded over the last several months for our edification and encouragement: FBCUM Worship Songs
9) Memorizing James together: We want to offer a Scripture memory challenge to our church as a way to hide God’s word in our hearts. We’re suggesting two options: Path A is to memorize the entire book of James, Path B is to memorize particular sections from James. Check out this guide to see the schedule for each path, various tools to help you memorize, and other encouragements.
10) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail in your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].
If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
