Announcement
Mid-week Announcements on December 30, 2020
1) Mid-week devotional – As we continue on in our series on wisdom (living skillfully in God’s world), we return to the book of Proverbs. Today, Pastor Rob dives into Proverbs 12:22 and the role that speaking truth has in our growth in wisdom and worship of God. Take some time to listen today to be built up in God’s word.
2) FBCUM Prayer Meeting, January 6th at 6:30 PM (ZOOM only) – Lord willing, we plan on having a churchwide prayer next Wednesday at 6:30 PM on ZOOM. Please mark your calendars as we come together to praise God, cast our burdens on Him and ask Him for all we need. If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
3) Celebration of the Lord’s Supper, January 3rd – Lord willing, we plan to celebrate the Lord’s Supper this coming Sunday. For those joining us inside, you can pick up the bread & cup when you enter the building. For those joining us in the FM transmitter parking lot, we will have an attendant distributing the bread & cup underneath the awning in the front of the building. Feel free to drive through between 9:00-9:30 AM if you’re using the FM transmitter parking lot. To help us prepare our hearts and relationships for this celebration, check out this article prepared by our elders.
4) Studying Habakkuk as a church – If you’re new to reading this Old Testament prophet or need a quick refresher, we’ve put together an article (Background on Habakkuk) to help orient us and get us ready as we dive into Habakkuk over the next four weeks. We encourage you to read ahead during the week, pray through the text as you read, and pray ahead of time for God to build us up, transform our hearts and bring glory to Himself!
5) Year end giving reminder – As we near the end of 2020, remember that any gifts to be counted toward your 2020 annual giving statement must be postmarked or in the church office by December 31. Online gifts or electronic checks must be submitted by Dec. 31 as well. Thanks!
6) Testimony of Grace – We are thankful to partner with Mercy of Christ Fellowship Church that meets in Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC. Lord willing, we’ll have a chance to receive a more detailed update from their pastor, Jeremy McClain and have him share from God’s word the last week of January. Please continue to pray for the saints in Lincoln Heights and for the gospel to advance!
7) Book Recommendation: Prayer: How Praying Together Shapes the Church, by John Onwucheckwa.
8) Indoor Meeting Plans: Lord willing, we will continue to meet indoors for the duration of the winter season. You can find out our plans for meeting indoors by reading the Indoor gathering FAQ sheet. Please note, we plan to continue to offer the live-stream option for the duration of COVID-19. If you have any questions, please contact the church office with any questions.
9) FBCUM Calendar – January 2021 Events of the Month
10) FBCUM Playlist – Check out the playlist on the resources section of our church’s website. We’ve collected all the songs we’ve recorded over the last several months for our edification and encouragement: FBCUM Worship Songs
11) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail in your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].
If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
