Announcement
Mid-week Announcements on February 10, 2021
1) Mid-week devotional – As we continue on in our series on wisdom (living skillfully in God’s world), we return to the book of Proverbs. Today, Pastor Rob dives into Proverbs 18:1 which warns us against isolating ourselves from sound wisdom and the role that true friendship plays in our growth in wisdom.
2) FBCUM Prayer Meeting, February 17th at 6:30 PM (ZOOM) – Lord willing, we plan on having a churchwide prayer meeting next Wednesday at 6:30 PM on ZOOM. Please check your email for the ZOOM invite and join us as we come together to praise God and make our requests known to Him. If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
3) Starting Point Class – We’ve rescheduled our Starting Point Class for this Sunday, February 14th, immediately following our morning service, we will be hosting our Starting Point Class. This is a class that introduces folks to our church, what we believe, what it means to be a member at FBCUM, and where we (by God’s grace) hope to go. Those who attend are not obligated to join, but this is the first step for joining our church. [*Note, instead of three consecutive classes, we will be covering all the material at once on Sunday. Pizza lunch is provided. Please let us know if you plan to attend by contacting the church office at [email protected].]
4) Celebration of the Lord’s Supper, February 14th – Lord willing, we plan to celebrate the Lord’s Supper this coming Sunday. For those joining us inside, you can pick up the bread & cup when you enter the building. For those joining us in the FM transmitter parking lot, we will have an attendant distributing the bread & cup underneath the awning in the front of the building. Feel free to drive through between 9:00-9:30 AM if you’re using the FM transmitter parking lot. To help us prepare our hearts and relationships for this celebration, check out this article prepared by our elders.
5) Testimony of God’s Grace – Take a moment to listen to this short video interview with Jason Brown and a few of our youth on what they’re doing to encourage each other and spur each other on to love and good deeds.
6) Book Recommendation: Charity and Its Fruits, by Jonathan Edwards
7) Indoor Meeting Plans: Lord willing, we will continue to meet indoors for the duration of the winter season. You can find out our plans for meeting indoors by reading the Indoor gathering FAQ sheet. Please note, we plan to continue to offer the live-stream option for the duration of COVID-19. If you have any questions, please contact the church office with any questions.
8) FBCUM Playlist – Check out the playlist on the resources section of our church’s website. We’ve collected all the songs we’ve recorded over the last several months for our edification and encouragement: FBCUM Worship Songs
9) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail in your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].
If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
