Mid-week Announcements on April 28, 2021

1) FBCUM Prayer Meeting, (5/6), 6:30 PM (ZOOM) – Lord willing, we plan on having a churchwide prayer next Wednesday at 6:30 PM on ZOOM. Please check your email your calendars for the ZOOM invite and join us as we come together to praise God and make our requests known to Him. If you have any questions, please contact the church office.

2) Lord’s Supper Next Sunday (5/2) – We hope to renew our covenant as a church family and celebrate the Lord’s Supper this Sunday. Please use this week to examine and prepare your heart. If you are in conflict with someone, use this time to reconcile with them beforehand as we “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace” (Eph. 4:3).

3) Evangelism Weekender – 5/22/21 – Mark your calendars for Saturday morning, May 22^nd! We have the joy of hosting one of our supported workers from East Asia who will be leading an evangelism workshop at FBCUM from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. We not only seek to pray, send, and go overseas with the gospel (Matt. 28:19-20), we seek to share the gospel locally. This weekender is meant to encourage, equip, clarify, and sharpen us for this work. Though we are not able to offer childcare, kids (and guests) are welcome to join. 4) Local ‘Adopt a Home’ Service Opportunity – We have an opportunity to help our neighbors in Prince George’s County, rebuild after suffering loss due to flooding with the ‘Adopt a Home’ outreach. Here’s how you can help. First, if you have experience with carpentry or if you would like to learn on the job, we need volunteers (background check required). Second, we are seeking, to raise $4000 for supplies such as insulation, drywall, wire, electrical boxes, etc.  If you would like to volunteer your services, please contact the church office.  Those choosing to give may do so by providing funds through the offerings (select ‘other’ on the envelope and write in Adopt a Home) or if giving online, please select ‘Miscellaneous’ and enter Adopt a Home in the comment section. Thank you for your willingness to serve and give! 5) Testimony of God’s Grace – We praise God for the hard work put in by our youth and a number of parent volunteers in finishing up a project to serve some members of our church family. Way to go! Here’s a few pictures:

6) New Sermon Card – We encourage our church family to be read beforehand the text that will be preached on the coming Sunday to pray and prepare for our gathering under God and His word on Sunday. Here is the new sermon card for this summer’s preaching schedule.

9) Indoor Meeting Plans: By God’s grace we’ve been able to meet indoors for our Sunday gatherings with masks and socially distanced. Please note, we plan to continue to offer the live-stream option for the duration of COVID-19. If you have any questions, please contact the church office with any questions.

10) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family.
