Mid-week Announcements on May 12, 2021
1) FBCUM Prayer Meeting , (5/19), 6:30 PM (ZOOM) – Lord willing, we plan on having a churchwide next Wednesday at 6:30 PM on ZOOM. Please check your email your calendars for the ZOOM invite and join us as we come together to praise God and make our requests known to Him. If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
2) Testimony of Grace: Congrats to Josh and Ellie Matherlee – Josh and Ellie, who joined our church family back in March, recently got married! Let’s rejoice with them, pray for and encourage them in as they begin their life as husband and wife.
3) Evangelism Weekender – 5/22/21 – Mark your calendars for Saturday morning, May 22nd! We have the joy of hosting one of our supported workers from East Asia who will be leading an evangelism workshop at FBCUM from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. We not only seek to pray, send, and go overseas with the gospel (Matt. 28:19-20), we seek to share the gospel locally. This weekender is meant to encourage, equip, clarify, and sharpen us for this work. Though we are not able to offer childcare, kids (and guests) are welcome to join. Click here to see/print the flyer for the Evangelism Weekender. Please contact the church office with any questions!
4) Member’s Meeting – 5/23 21 – Following our morning service we are planning to have a members meeting. If you are a member of FBCUM, please join us!
5) Local ‘Adopt a Home’ Service Opportunity – We have an opportunity to help our neighbors in Prince George’s County who’ve suffered loss due to flooding with the ‘Adopt a Home’ outreach. Thank you for your giving toward the Adopt A Home project, we still have not met our goal of $4000, so there is an opportunity to give. Also, we’re in need of volunteers, so please consider joining our FBCUM TEAM and demonstrate our love in action by helping a neighbor in their time of need. This will be a tremendous opportunity to serve. We need skilled, and unskilled labor, so please contact Eric or Kristine Sohn, for more details about the work and more about what you may offer as we pursue our goal.
6) Book Recommendations – Around the Wicket Gate: Help for Those Who Only Know About Christ, by: C.H. Spurgeon.
7) FBCUM Playlist – Check out the playlist on the resources section of our church’s website. We’ve collected all the songs we’ve recorded over the last several months for our edification and encouragement: FBCUM Worship Songs
8) Indoor Meeting Plans: By God’s grace we’ve been able to meet indoors for our Sunday gatherings with masks and socially distanced. Please note, we plan to continue to offer the live-stream option for the duration of COVID-19. If you have any questions, please contact the church office with any questions.
9) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail in your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].
If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
