Announcement

Mid-week Announcements on May 26, 2021

1) FBCUM Prayer Meeting, (6/2), 6:30 PM (ZOOM) – Lord willing, we plan on having a churchwide tonight at 6:30 PM on ZOOM. Please check your email your calendars for the ZOOM invite and join us as we come together to praise God and make our requests known to Him. If you have any questions, please contact the church office.

2) Summer Schedule – As we look ahead to the summer, we wanted to communicate a few things that may be helpful. James warns us to hold our plans loosely “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring” (James 4:13-14a) but please join with us in praying for our summer as a church family and we’ll keep you posted with any changes as they come:

  • Sunday School – We hope to relaunch our Sunday School classes starting in September. That means we’d keep our 9:30 AM church service time and make any service time shifts in September.
  • Christianity Explained – After our very encouraging evangelism workshop this past weekend, we hope to offer a 6-week class this summer that equips us to share the good news using the Gospel of Mark. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted on those details.
  • Churchwide Prayer Meetings – Our June 2nd prayer meeting will be on ZOOM. After that our plan is to do a bi-monthly prayer meeting. The first Wednesday will be in the church building, the third Wednesday will be on ZOOM.

June 2nd – ZOOM only June 16th – ZOOM only
July 7th – In person at FBCUM only July 21st – ZOOM only
August 4th – In person at FBCUM only August 18th – ZOOM only

James reminds us “You do not have, because you do not ask” (James 4:2b). It’s been encouraging to gather as have to pray together. Let’s use this summer to continue to ask!

3) Testimony of Grace – We’ve reached the end of another AWANA year and are thankful to God for our leaders, parents and children who used the virtual option for the entire year. A huge thank you to Ronnie and Chrissy Sweetman for leading our AWANA program by organizing the groups, getting the books to the children and keeping up with awards. Thank you to our leaders who spent time each week encouraging the children and listening to their sections: Rich Dearstyne, Melissa Dronsfield, Leslie Fleet, Rita and Isaac Neal, Susanna Schriever, Tammy Slaughter, Melanie Spicer, Janell Wagner, Debbie West.

These are the kids who worked hard to complete at least one book in an effort to hide God’s word in their hearts. Way to go!!
