Announcement
Mid-week Announcements on September 15, 2021
1) Elder Talk & Prayer Meeting (Part 2) – September 15th, 2021 – 6:30 PM: Tonight, we’re planning on meeting at the church building for an elder talk on social media and the church (“From the Overflow of the Heart, the Keyboard Types”), followed by a time of corporate prayer. We encourage those who are able, to join us. For those who cannot make it, the talk will be recorded. Please note, kids are welcome, but there will be no nursery. If you missed Part 1 of the talk, you can catch up by viewing it here.
2) Fall Sunday School and New Sunday Morning Schedule – This Sunday, September 19th, we will continue the Sunday School class in the auditorium on Philippians, Colossians, Philemon. The class is taught by the elders and is open to everyone, though we are not able to offer a nursery at this time. We are also offering an online ZOOM class at 12:30 PM on Sundays – please check www.fbcum.org to sign up. Last week, September 12th, we shifted our Sunday morning schedule to the following:
9:00 AM – Sunday School
10:00 AM – Sunday morning service
If you have any questions or concerns you can let us know by contacting one of the elders and/or emailing the church office ([email protected]).
3) Disaster Relief Volunteer Opportunity – Our Disaster Relief Team has been called out to serve in Wilmington, DE following the damage caused by Hurricane Ida. Flood Recovery work is being scheduled on multiple weekends as your schedule permits. First Baptist Church members are invited to volunteer if you are at least 18 years or older. Please contact Tanya Joy for more details ([email protected]).
4) Memorizing Romans 8 Together Challenge: Romans 8 is jam-packed with glorious truths about God good for us to dwell on and memorize. As our church works through Romans 8 this Fall (see Sermon Card), we wanted to offer a Scripture memory challenge to our church as a way to hide God’s word in our hearts. Beginning September, we have 13 weeks to memorize all of Romans 8 (which has 39 verses). Find a friend to memorize with or do it with your family! For a helpful tool, check out biblememory.com. If you prefer to go at your own pace, go for it! For those who find it helpful to have a plan, here you go:
