Mid-week Announcements on October 6, 2021

1) Prayer Meeting tonight Wednesday, October 6^th – Join us tonight at 6:30 PM as we gather for an in-person prayer meeting as a church family. We meet to cast our burdens on God, make known our needs and requests, sing songs of praise, and hear a brief encouragement from Psalm 50:15.

2) Women’s Ministry Event – “Overcoming Anxiety” – Ladies mark your calendars for October 30^th for a time of fellowship and encouragement. We are plan on hearing from our sister Karina Sherwood on God’s word on better understanding what anxiety is and how to fight it with God’s help, hear testimonies, and have a panel Q&A. The plan is to host the event at the church, 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM. More details to follow!

3) Disaster Relief Training – “Bringing Help, Healing and Hope.” On Saturday, Nov. 6, 9am-3pm there will be a training event at Hughesville Baptist Church (8505 Old Leonardtown Rd., Hughesville, MD) for new and returning volunteers in Basic Recovery Team; Basic Feeding Team; Basic Laundry and Introduction to Disaster Relief (for New Volunteers). Registration fee includes lunch and materials:  $30-New Volunteers; $20-Returning Volunteers (update expired DR ID badge); $0-Returning Volunteer with current DR ID badge. For more information or to register: www.bcmd.org/events or [email protected]

4) Memorizing Romans 8 Together Challenge: Romans 8 is jam-packed with glorious truths about God good for us to dwell on and memorize. As our church works through Romans 8 this Fall (see Sermon Card), we wanted to offer a Scripture memory challenge to our church as a way to hide God’s word in our hearts. Beginning September, we have 13 weeks to memorize all of Romans 8 (which has 39 verses). Find a friend to memorize with or do it with your family! For a helpful tool, check out biblememory.com.
