Announcement
Mid-week Announcements on October 27, 2021
1) Prayer Meeting Next Wednesday, November 3rd (in-person) 6:30 PM – Join us next week at the church building at 6:30 PM for our prayer meeting as we gather to sing, hear an encouraging word from Psalm 116, and pray together. Mark your calendar; we’ll see you then!
2) Funeral and Lament details – It’s with a broken heart we announce that our beloved George Griffin died this past Monday. As Paul reminds us in Philippians 1:21 “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Though we grieve our loss, we rejoice in the sure hope that he is enjoying this ‘gain’! Please join us as we pray for and grieve with Marjorie and family.
- Viewing from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Thursday (11/4/21) at FBCUM
- Funeral at 12:00 PM on Thursday (11/4/21) at FBCUM
Also, please be in prayer for Janell Wagner and her family as they grieve the loss of Janell’s mom (Sherie) who died this past week. Finally, the father of Luis Enriquez also died recently so we encourage you to pray for him and his family as well. “Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5b).
3) Women’s Ministry Event – “Overcoming Anxiety” – Today is the final day to register for our time of fellowship and encouragement on October 30th. To find out more information and to register click here. We plan on hearing from our sister Karina Sherwood on God’s word on better understanding what anxiety is and how to fight it with God’s help, hear testimonies, and have a panel Q&A. The event will be hosted at the church, 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM. If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
4) Disaster Relief Training – “Bringing Help, Healing, and Hope.” On Saturday, Nov. 6, 9am-3pm there will be a training event at Hughesville Baptist Church (8505 Old Leonardtown Rd., Hughesville, MD) for new and returning volunteers in Basic Recovery Team; Basic Feeding Team; Basic Laundry and Introduction to Disaster Relief (for New Volunteers). 5) Memorizing Romans 8 Together Challenge: Romans 8 is jam-packed with glorious truths about God good for us to dwell on and memorize. As our church works through Romans 8 this Fall (see Sermon Card), we wanted to offer a Scripture memory challenge to our church as a way to hide God’s word in our hearts. Beginning September, we have 13 weeks to memorize all of Romans 8 (which has 39 verses). Find a friend to memorize with or do it with your family! For a helpful tool, check out biblememory.com. If you prefer to go at your own pace, go for it! For those who find it helpful to have a plan, here you go:
