Announcement

Mid-week Announcements on January 12, 2022

1) Parenting Conference at FBCUM – How are we to think about ‘balance’ when it comes to parenting, crazy work schedules, church, sports, and other responsibilities? How can we teach, discipline, AND enjoy our kids at the same time? How can we (and our kids) recover from parenting mistakes/sins we’ve made along the way? On Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 we plan to host a parenting conference. Pastor Ed Moore and his wife Anna from Queens, New York City will be leading our time together. To find out more information and to register for the event click here: “Biblical Parenting Conference”. For those who are requesting childcare, the deadline to sign up is today (January 12th).

2) Starting Point Class – For those who are thinking about joining FBCUM or would like to learn more about who we are as a church and what we believe, our next Starting Point Class is scheduled for Sunday, February 6th immediately after the morning service. If you or someone you know is planning on attending, or if you have any questions, please email the church office at [email protected] to let us know so we can plan accordingly as a light lunch will be provided.

3) Women’s Bible Study on Anxiety – Ladies, we were thankful for the time we had back in October to dig into God’s word on the topic of overcoming anxiety. As a follow-up to that time, we are working on hosting a 7-week study through Ed Welch’s book When I am Afraid: A Step-by-Step Guide Away from Fear and Anxiety this winter. We plan on starting this study on February 6th – check your email this week on how to register.

4) Children’s Ministry and AWANA – Lord willing we look forward to restarting children’s ministry Sunday school this Sunday January 16th, and our AWANA program on Wednesday, January 19th. Thanks to our volunteers who are helping out – let’s pray for our kids and teachers this week!

5) Book RecommendationGospel Centered Family: Becoming The Parents God Wants You To Be, by Tim Chester and Ed Moll

6) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].

If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
