Announcement

Mid-week Announcements on February 23, 2022

1) AWANA tonight, 6:30 PM  – Lord willing, our kids will be meeting for AWANA tonight to hide God’s word in their hearts!

2) Wednesday Night Inductive Bible Study tonight, 6:30 PM – Join us tonight for our Wednesday Night inductive Bible study in Room 117/118 where one of our pastors leads us through a passage of Scripture verse-by-verse where together we observe what the text says, interpret what it means, and seek to apply it with God’s help. All are welcome, join us tonight as we dive into 2 Peter 1:12-15!

3) Time Change this Sunday – Don’t forget to change your clocks this Saturday night as we ‘spring forward’ an hour.

4) Volunteer Opportunity – One way to serve our families with young kids is to help in the nursery during the Sunday morning service. For us to continue having a nursery for parents during the Sunday AM Service we need 6 adult volunteers. The commitment would be to serve one Sunday every 5 weeks. Please contact Shelbey Strickland ([email protected]) to sign up!

5) Lost-and-Found – There are coats, books, and other belongings that have been left behind over the past year. This Sunday (3/13/22), we’ll put the coat rack and a table with items from the lost-and-found on a table in the fellowship hall. If you’re missing something, please stop by to retrieve it. After a few weeks, unclaimed items will be donated to a good cause.

6) Adopt-a-home update – Adopt-a-Home Opportunity. Our church has another great opportunity to serve our neighbors in Prince George’s County through the ‘Adopt a Home’ partnership. This is a program that helps homeowners rebuild after suffering a loss due to flooding. Our Adopt-a-Home team will be serving another local resident on March 12th. To volunteer, contact Eric or Kristine Sohn at [email protected] or [email protected].

7) March 25th -26th Women’s Ministry Conference Ladies we plan on hosting a 2-day conference (the evening of March 25th, the morning of March 26th) with Blair Linne talking about God as our Father. More details to come, but please mark your calendars. If you’d like to check out her new book, it’s available on the bookstall: Finding my Father: How the Gospel Heals the Pain of Fatherlessness.

8) Book RecommendationCrazy Busy: A (Mercifully) Short Book About a (Really) Big Problem, by Kevin DeYoung

9) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].
