Announcement
Mid-week Announcements on April 6, 2022
1) Prayer Meeting tonight, 6:30 PM – Lord willing, we’ll be gathering together as a church family at 6:30 to pray, and hear encouragements from God’s word and testimonies of God’s grace. Please note that on the first Wednesday of the month, there is no AWANA so we can all gather as a family to pray. AWANA and inductive Bible Study will resume next Wednesday, April 13th.
2) Funeral for John Barbour (April 11th) – Please be in prayer for Jacquelyn Barbour and her family as we grieve with them and celebrate the life of our brother John Barbour. The viewing will be at the church building on Monday (April 11th) at 11:00 AM and the funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM, with a repast afterward.
3) April 15th Good Friday Service – Please mark your calendar for our Good Friday Service on Friday, April 15th at 7:00 PM as we gather to remember Christ’s death.
4) Men’s Breakfast – April 23rd – Ephesians 4:26 says “Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger.” That seems simple enough, but what does that look like, and how do we do this? Men mark your calendars for Saturday, April 23rd – Lord willing we plan to meet at the church from 8:00-10:00 AM that morning for breakfast, fellowship, and a devotional on anger. Cost is free and all are welcome. Click here to register. Hope to see you there!
5) Starting Point – April 24th – Starting point is a class designed to introduce people to who we are as a church and what we believe. Attending the class does not obligate you to join but it is the first step in joining our church family. Our next class is scheduled for April 24th in the fellowship hall, immediately after the morning service. Please let the church office know if you or a friend plan to attend [email protected].
6) Disaster Relief Volunteer Opportunity – Disaster Relief Volunteers and members of First Baptist Church are invited to help us prepare lots of sandwiches for Send Volunteers with the North American Mission Board (NAMB) at FBCUM on Thursday, April 28 from 12-4 pm. For more information, please contact Tanya Joy ([email protected]) at the church office for details.
7) FBCUM Adopt-a-Home Opportunity – Help us serve a local homeowner who suffered a loss due to flooding on Saturday, April 9. Work includes framing a large wall, insulation, drywall, and adding baseboards. No experience is required. Training provided on-site. Please pray for the team as they head out; to volunteer, contact Eric or Kristine Sohn at [email protected].
8) Book Recommendation – Be Thou My Vision: A Liturgy for Daily Worship, by Jonathan Gibson
9) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].
If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
