Close1 Corinthians 12:12-31
Introduction
Looking at our horizontal relationship with each other as the body of Christ, we can be challenged when we don’t get the “position” that we want. It’s really difficult when we don’t get the position that we think we deserve – when we feel like we’ve been overlooked, disregarded or under appreciated. When this happens to us, there is a temptation to sulk and pout and become discontent. The problem with discontentment is that it can lead to division – a fracture in unity.
As we look at the second half of chapter twelve in the first letter to the Corinthians, we will see that this threat of discontentment and division is what Paul is seeking to address. He is going to teach a master class on unity in diversity.
