Announcement
Mid-week Announcements on August 24, 2022
1) Elders Talk tonight, August 24th, 6:30 PM – Tonight we’ll be digging into what the Bible says about divorce and remarriage. After the talk, there will be a time of Q&A with the elders for anyone interested. Next Wednesday, August 31st at 6:30 PM, we’ll be looking at what the Bible says about our life together as a church (mark your calendars).
2) Marriage Conference — Saturday, September 10, 8:30 am—12noon. All are invited to
join us for a free, half-day Marriage Conference aimed at encouraging and equipping believers in “Building Your Marriage According to God’s Design”. Our guest speaker is Pastor, Bobby Scott, and his wife, Naomi, from Community of Faith Bible Church. We’re working on childcare for our church members, but you must register by August 31. Register here.
3) Backpack Drive with the Garden Church – “The Garden Church” is hosting a back-to-school backpack drive in their neighborhood (downtown Baltimore) as a way to help under-resourced families and introduce them to Christ. The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 27th. There are two ways we can help out:
a) Volunteer: The event will be between 4 PM – 7 PM at the Eutaw Marshburn Elementary School in Baltimore. Volunteers would serve in coordinating food, music, games, and other activities. If you are interested in volunteering, please email the church office to let us know and we can follow up with more information.
b) Donate: composition notebooks, pencils, glue sticks, crayons, colored pencils, dry erase markers, binders, and loose leaf paper. If you’d like to give, please drop off any school supplies at our church building no later than Friday, 8/26.
4) Fall Schedule – As we head into the Fall, here are a few dates to keep in mind:
a) Churchwide prayer meeting – September 5th, 6:30 PM
b) Inductive Bible Study & AWANA begins on September 12th, 6:30 PM
5) August 28 Members Meeting – If you’re a member at FBCUM, we hope you’ll make plans
to join us following the worship service next Sunday, August 28, for our quarterly Members
Meeting. We’ll be voting on memberships, praying together, and hearing ministry updates.
6) Book Recommendation – Concise Theology: A Guide to Historic Christian Beliefs by J.I. Packer
7) Giving We encourage you to continue to faithfully give as a way to sustain the gospel ministry at FBCUM and as a means for us to care for those in need as a church family. You can give online or mail your offering to the church office. Church members who have a benevolence request, please contact the church office at [email protected].
If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
